<jats:p>The article examines the role and place of military applied sports in the formation and provision of physical and psychological readiness of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the effective performance of combat and special tasks as assigned and survivability on the battlefield. To achieve the goal, the following research methods were applied: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific, educational and methodological literature, regulatory and legal framework, data from Internet resources, the method of analogy and comparison. Based on the results of the study, it was established that military applied sports should be considered as a key component of the system of training military personnel of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, which ensures the formation of physical and psychological readiness of soldiers for training, combat and combat activities in the conditions of modern war. It was determined that applied military sports are an important tool for bringing the educational and training process closer to real combat conditions, minimizing the gap between the training and combat environment. The above gives the right to claim that the use of applied military sports during training and combat activities of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will ensure the formation of the highest level of readiness of servicemen, when physical qualities, psychological stability and cognitive flexibility function as a single unit to achieve the best result - victory over the enemy.</jats:p>
