Abstract
The relevance of studying the problem of occupational morbidity and trauma in swimming is due to modern trends in the development of high-performance sports, which are characterized by a significant increase in training and competitive loads, intensification of the preparatory process and early sports specialization. Swimming is traditionally considered one of the safest and most physiologically appropriate types of physical activity, however, in the context of professional sports, it is accompanied by specific risks to the health of athletes. The purpose of the article is to comprehensively analyze the current state of occupational morbidity and trauma in swimming.Swimming as a sport is characterized by a high level of involvement of various functional systems of the body and a relatively low level of shock load on the musculoskeletal system in comparison with other sports. At the same time, many years of training loads, specific conditions of the aquatic environment, monotony of motor actions and high volumes of work lead to the formation of a specific spectrum of professional diseases and injuries in swimmers. In modern conditions of intensification of sports training, the problem of injuries and professional morbidity in swimming is gaining particular relevance and requires a comprehensive scientific analysis. Therefore, occupational morbidity and injuries in swimming are a complex multifactorial problem that requires an interdisciplinary approach to its solution. Despite the relatively low level of acute injuries, high volumes of training work and specific conditions of activity lead to the development of chronic pathological conditions that can significantly affect the sports performance and quality of life of an athlete-swimmer.
