Abstract

<jats:p>The books presents a comprehensive description of the sensory integration method (SI), showing its history, the controversies related to it and its evolution in the light of contemporary scientific knowledge. The author discusses the current applications of SI therapy, the standards of diagnosis and therapy, as well as the evaluation of its effectiveness, paying particular attention to the ethical aspects of therapist's work. An important element of the publication is the perspective of mothers of children participating in SI therapy, which enriches the perception of the method with family experiences. The book is a rich and structured collection of scientific and popular science data as well as the description of currently observed educational models and trends, and the innovative combination of these perspectives allows us to better understand the essence of the phenomenon of SI popularity in a specific socio-cultural context.</jats:p>
