What Is Coercion?

<p>A brief monograph investigating the subject of coercion, comparing the perspectives of Sarah Conly's "Seduction, Rape, and Coercion", Patrick Bratton's "When Is Coercion Successful?: And Why Can’t We Agree on It?", and H.J. McCloskey's "Coercion: Its Nature and Significance". It is concluded that coercion is separate from persuasion by its method of action in that coercion threatens identity and persuasion does not. There is also a distinction between legitimate and illegitimate coercion.</p>
