Abstract

<p>The present article aims to understand how the pursuit of economic development influenced the formationof Brazilian foreign policy paradigms. In the first section of the paper, we tried to operationalize the conceptof foreign policy and economic development. In the second section, the research aimed at exposing theparadigms in Brazilian foreign policy for economic development from 1930 to 2016, that is, thedevelopmental paradigm, the neoliberal paradigm and the logistic paradigm. For that, the text used asmethodology the Paradigms of International Relations developed by Amado Cervo and that has significantinfluence of economic studies. The result was that the logistic paradigm seeks to surpass the values of theneoliberal paradigm while restructuring the system of ideas and world perception of the developmentalparadigm and can be considered a significant theoretical and scientific advance in the community andreference of development studies</p>
