Abstract
The methodological guidelines describe the technique for molecular genetic analysis of the g.10153G>A polymorphism in the SCD1 gene of cattle. This gene plays a key role in the formation of valuable economic traits, particularly influencing the fatty acid profile in milk and meat. The identified polymorphism is an effective marker for marker-assisted selection, which allows for the selection of animals with desired qualitative characteristics of their products. The methodological guidelines are intended for specialists in genetic and biotechnological laboratories, scientists, postdoctoral researchers, postgraduate students, as well as lecturers and students in the fields of biology and agriculture
