Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph presents the results of research into current issues facing Russian regions, including petrochemical regions, in the context of global economic transformation. The study was conducted by a team of scientists from the Laboratory of Contemporary Problems of Regional Economics at the Institute of Socioeconomic Research of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences as part of planned research under a state assignment from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation (Research Project № FMRS-2025-0076 at the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and № 125020601625-2 in Unified State Information System for Recording the Results of Research and Development Work). The monograph examines issues of ensuring technological independence in the context of globalization, institutions that hinder innovative development, human capital management, and the potential for fiscal incentives for regional economic growth. Intended for specialists in regional economics and public administration, as well as for senior undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students majoring in economics.</jats:p>
