Abstract
<jats:p>Prof. Lyubov V. Sazonova, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, held a number of major posts in the management of VIR: Director of the Polar Experiment Station, Head of the Vegetable and Cucurbit Crop Department, and the Institute's Deputy Director for Science. Her name was closely associated with the vegetable crop research at the Polar Experiment Station and the entire Institute. L. V. Sazonova's scientific heritage serves as a foundation for further research efforts of present-day scientists. This book contemplates focal milestones of the life and scientific activities of Prof. L. V. Sazonova. The most complete list of her publications is presented. The book is addressed to researchers, teachers, postgraduate and undergraduate students of biological and agricultural universities, specialists in biology-related areas, and historians of natural science.</jats:p>
