Abstract

The research aims to develop a three-level model of a comprehensive cognitive-linguocultural analysis of the WOMAN concept in literary discourse and to demonstrate its operationality based on the material of Russian, English and Tajik novel prose of the 20th century. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the creation of a unified analytical model that integrates the frame, cultural-code and archetypal levels of analysis of the WOMAN concept and ensures a consistent transition from its structural description to cultural-value and typological generalizations. At the frame level, the structure of the WOMAN concept is built in the form of a system of slots reflecting the physical-bodily, psycho-emotional, behavioral, socio-role, value-cultural and communicative-relational aspects of the image. The cultural code level allows us to identify the bodily, spatial, symbolic-religious, communicative and normative-axiological cultural codes through which gender-marked semantic dominants are implemented. The archetypal level carries out the final typologization of female images based on stable archetypal models. The model was tested on the basis of the novels “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M. A. Sholokhov, “Lady Chatterley’s Lover” by D. G. Lawrence and “Dokhunda” by S. Aini, representing Russian, English and Tajik linguistic cultures. The results showed that the structural characteristics of the WOMAN concept (dynamics, statics, opposition), identified at the frame level, naturally correlate with a certain value content at the cultural code level and the resulting archetypal model: the Russian and English concepts of WOMAN are united by the archetype of the Rebel (with a different vector of protest), while the Tajik concept of WOMAN represents the archetype of the Virgo. This confirms the applicability of the model for the differentiated comparative analysis of linguistic cultures.
