Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph reveals the methodological features of G.F. Shershenevich’s concept of the general theory of law, its significance for Russian legal studies at the beginning of the 20th century and for modern Russian legal studies, which include the doctrine of domestic and international law. The stages of Shershenevich’s creative evolution are determined in the context of the formation of his state-legal views. The main concepts of the general theory of law at the beginning of the 20th century are characterized, their role in the evolution of scientific methods of studying law and in improving legal practice is assessed, and so on. The monograph is intended for students of law faculties and universities, graduate students in legal specialties, teachers, and anyone interested in the history and methodology of legal science.</jats:p>
