Abstract
<jats:p>Abstract. The transformation of the economic environment driven by digitalization, growing volumes of information, and increasing uncertainty necessitates the improvement of the methodology of economic and management research. Traditional methods of analysis, statistical research, and econometric modelling are complemented by modern digital tools, including Big Data, Data Science, Business Intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. The comprehensive application of these methods is particularly relevant for the study of complex and multifactorial industries, including the construction industry. The purpose of the article. The purpose of the article is to examine the transformation of the methodology of economic and management research under digitalization, systematize modern analytical methods and tools, and identify the possibilities of their application to the study of the construction industry. Methods. The study employs methods of analysis and synthesis, systemic and comparative approaches, generalization and systematization of scientific approaches, as well as tabular and graphical methods of presenting the results. Results. The methodological toolkit of contemporary economic and management research is systematized into the following main groups: general scientific, empirical, economic-statistical, econometric, strategic, and digital methods. The functional purpose of each group and its potential application to the study of the construction industry are identified. It is substantiated that economic-statistical and econometric methods enable the identification of trends, assessment of relationships between indicators, and forecasting, while strategic methods contribute to the assessment of the external environment, competitive advantages, and risks. It is established that digital technologies, including Big Data, Business Intelligence, Data Science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, expand the possibilities for processing large volumes of structured and unstructured information, identifying complex relationships, and forecasting economic processes. The feasibility of integrating quantitative, qualitative, and digital methods in the study of the construction industry is determined to provide a comprehensive assessment of its development trends, influencing factors, and risks. Conclusions. The combination of statistical, econometric, strategic, and digital methods provides a comprehensive approach to the study of the construction industry and creates a basis for improving the quality of forecasting and the validity of management decisions.</jats:p>
