Sets and Logic

<jats:p>The manual, intended for students of pedagogical institutes and colleges – future primary school teachers – presents the basics of two most important topics that contribute to the formation of conceptual thinking. In the third edition, Chapter 1 includes new material related to unexpected properties of the symmetric difference of sets, and Chapter 2 expands the material devoted to the geometric analysis of the correctness of inference forms. New material added in Chapter 2 may be useful to lawyers. Appendices 1–3, which appeared in the new edition, examine paradoxical interaction of the contraposition law and causal inference, as well as a number of questions related to mathematical texts understanding.</jats:p>
