Abstract
<jats:p>В статье исследуется изменение восприятия в современной индийской правящей элите участия Индии во Второй мировой войне. Во время и непосредственно после неё, в том числе в первые годы независимости, мировая война воспринималась большинством в стране как навязанная угнетателями и чуждая интересам народа. Однако с обновлением социального состава элиты и утверждением в ней «нового видения» индийской истории, выдвижением как следствие в качестве национальной стратегии цели обретения страной статуса великой глобальной державы участие индийских солдат в сражениях войны подвергается переоценке. Во многом это служит решению задачи повышения статуса страны, прежде всего в Совете Безопасности ООН, но также является важной частью общеполитического националистического дискурса правящей Бхаратия джаната парти. Авторы считают, что подчёркивание сегодняшним индийским руководством важности участия своей страны в антигитлеровской коалиции отвечает интересам укрепления её сотрудничества с Россией.</jats:p> <jats:p>The article examines the changing perception in the modern Indian ruling elite of India's involvement in World War II. During and immediately after it, including in the early years of independence, the world war was perceived by the majority in the country as imposed by the oppressors and alien to the interests of the people. However, with the renewal of the social composition of the elite and the establishment of a "new vision" of Indian history, and as a result, the goal of achieving the status of a great global power for the country as a national strategy, the participation of Indian soldiers in the battles of the war is being overestimated. In many ways, this serves to solve the problem of raising the country's status, primarily in the UN Security Council, but it is also an important part of the general political nationalist discourse of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. The authors believe that the current Indian leadership's emphasis on the importance of its country's participation in the anti-Hitler coalition is in the interests of strengthening its cooperation with Russia.</jats:p>
