Abstract

<jats:p>This paper presents calculation of the current-carrying capacity of power cables. Also, it is analyzed how different factors affect the current-carrying capacity of power cables, including construction of the cables, soil temperature, soil thermal resistivity, soil drying and the influence of time-varying load. The results of current-carrying capacity obtained in this paper are compared with the values that are used in power utilities in Serbia.</jats:p>
