Abstract
<jats:p>The monograph is devoted to the study of cognitive-pragmatic aspects of the teaching and functioning of foreign languages within the system of higher education. The work outlines the theoretical foundations for the development of foreign language competencies, in particular phonetic, stylistic, and communicative-cognitive competencies, and substantiates modern methodological approaches to professionally oriented instruction. Special attention is given to the development of critical thinking, integrated learning, and the analysis of pragmatic features of speech interaction across different types of discourse. The publication is intended for researchers, teachers, and students of higher education.</jats:p>
