Abstract

<jats:p> <jats:italic toggle="yes">Context</jats:italic> . The <jats:italic toggle="yes">Electron Proton Helium INstrument</jats:italic> (EPHIN) aboard the <jats:italic toggle="yes">SOlar and Heliospheric Observatory</jats:italic> (SOHO) is a particle telescope that measures energetic protons and Helium particles with kinetic energies above 4 MeV/nuc and electrons with kinetic energies above 150 keV. Located at the Lagrangian point L1 of the Earth-Sun system, it provides continuous data throughout 30 years. </jats:p> <jats:p> <jats:italic toggle="yes">Aims</jats:italic> . Helium energy spectra of <jats:italic toggle="yes">Anomalous Cosmic Rays</jats:italic> (ACR) and <jats:italic toggle="yes">Galactic Cosmic Rays</jats:italic> (GCR) between 50 MeV/nuc and 100 MeV/nuc are derived based on EPHIN data. </jats:p> <jats:p> <jats:italic toggle="yes">Methods</jats:italic> . The data product is based on particles penetrating the full detector stack of EPHIN. <jats:italic toggle="yes">GEometry ANd Tracking 4</jats:italic> (GEANT4) simulations are used to derive the detectors response to the investigated particles. The data product is compared to other missions measuring Helium spectra at similar energies. </jats:p> <jats:p> <jats:italic toggle="yes">Results</jats:italic> . Daily and monthly fluxes at 57 MeV/nuc, 65 MeV/nuc, 78 MeV/nuc and 95 MeV/nuc are presented. The fluxes compare well to results of missions measuring at higher and lower energies. Helium to Carbon ratios (using <jats:italic toggle="yes">Advanced Composition Explorer</jats:italic> (ACE) <jats:italic toggle="yes">Cosmic Ray Isotope Spectrometer</jats:italic> (CRIS) Carbon data) for the mission duration are relatively constant. After 2017, the derived spectra suffer from increased noise in detector D. </jats:p>
