Abstract

<jats:p>Rhododendron walongense Kingdon-Ward was rediscovered in Zayü County, Xizang Autonomous Region, in 2025, over 75 years after its initial collection. The species was first collected by the British botanist Frank Kingdon-Ward in 1950 and was was officially named in 1953. Since that first collection, there have been no further records of the species. However, during botanical diversity surveys conducted in Zayü County, Xizang, in 2025 and 2026, the authors rediscovered this species and also collected flowering voucher specimens for morphological comparison.</jats:p>
