Abstract
1. <i>phytorisk</i> is an R package that simulates the main dispersal pathways of <i>Phytophthora cinnamomi</i> and generates spatially explicit infection risk maps by integrating soil water movement, root contact, surface water transport, and animal-mediated dispersal. 2. Dispersal pathways are implemented as independent modules and combined into a composite risk index through weighted aggregation. A case study in southern Spain validated model predictions against observed tree mortality. 3. The package provides a reproducible framework for pathogen spread modelling and supports risk assessment and Integrated Pest Management decisions. 4. We demonstrate the package using a case study in southern Spain, where model predictions were compared with observed patterns of tree mortality associated with a pathogen outbreak. The framework successfully reproduced the main spatial patterns of mortality, showing moderate-to-high agreement with observed mortality patterns, and enabled evaluation of alternative weighting strategies.
