Abstract
<jats:p>Aim : The overall objective was to conduct a biogeographical study of the genera Albizia, Parkia and Tetrapleura, in order to determine the contribution of species within these genera to the vegetation structure in Cameroon. Location : Cameroon Period : 2026. Main genera studied : Albizia, Parkia and Tetrapleura Methods : The methodology involved the production of 1°×1° grid maps (one square degree) using ArcMap ArcGIS 10.8 software, followed by their analysis and interpretation based on Cameroon’s phytogeographic units and the map of Cameroon’s ecosystems and main natural habitats. Results : It appears that species of these three genera are all present in the Guineo-Congolese Region and the transition zone between the Sudanese and Guineo-Congolese regions. Species of these three genera are sparsely present, or virtually or entirely absent, in the Sudanese Regions. The ecosystems of dense tropical rainforest, mountain forest and tropical wooded savannah have the most diverse distribution patterns for these three genera. Main conclusions : The genus Albizia may serve as a pattern group for secondary forests in the second stage of development due to its absence in the Sudanese Region. As the genus Parkia is represented in all three Regions except the Congolese Domain of the Guineo-Congolese Region, it cannot be considered a pattern group for phytogeography. The genus Tetrapleura, on the other hand, can be considered a pattern group for the Guineo-Congolese Region.</jats:p>
