Abstract
<jats:p>Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by impaired cognition and associated with the accumulation of amyloid-beta peptides in the brain. Researchers have reported that the wide range of microorganisms residing in the digestive tract is intricately linked to various physiological processes and diseases, including AD. The microbiota-gut-brain axis, a bidirectional communication system, plays a crucial role in the interaction between the gut and the brain. Alterations in the gut microbiota composition can lead to neuroinflammation, upregulate intestinal permeability, and result in altered neuroactive metabolites, contributing to AD. Understanding the relationship between the gut microbiota and AD may provide new insights into novel therapeutic strategies for this devastating and progressive disease. This chapter focuses on exploring the link between gut microbiota and AD, elucidating the mechanistic insights from pre-clinical to clinical studies, and exploring potential therapeutic interventions targeting gut microbiota to mitigate AD progression.&nbsp;</jats:p>
