Abstract
Acute otitis media remains one of the most common inflammatory diseases of ENT organs in children and adults, which is accompanied by severe pain syndrome, hearing impairment and reduced quality of life. Modern approaches focus on rational pharmacotherapy using topical drugs to quickly relieve clinical symptoms. Clinical observations of patients with acute otitis media at the pre-perforation stage are presented. The diagnosis was based on complaints, medical history and otorhinolaryngological examination. Patients were treated topically with combination of phenazone and lidocaine. The effectiveness of therapy was assessed by the dynamics of pain syndrome and the regression of inflammatory changes in the eardrum. Particular attention was paid to the tolerability of treatment and the identification of possible adverse events. The use of lidocaine and phenazone provided a rapid reduction in the intensity of pain syndrome: patients noted relief within a few minutes after instillation. Within 4–7 days of therapy, a pronounced regression of inflammatory symptoms was observed. No adverse reactions were detected during treatment. lidocaine and phenazone is an effective and safe tool for endaural therapy of patients with acute otitis media, providing quick relief of pain and reducing the severity of the inflammatory process.
