Abstract

This book offers a critical examination of Malaysian non-governmental organisations (NGOs) engaged in humanitarian efforts within the Gaza Strip, Palestine, with a particular focus on agricultural and educational assistance. It evaluates the initiatives of prominent NGOs such as Aman Palestin, MyCARE, Muslim Care and HALUAN using the OECD framework, assessing both organizational capacity and the sustainability of their aid programmes. This book also explores the strategic approaches employed by these NG0s in securing financial support, highlighting their methods in lobbying for funding. A unique feature of this book is its engagement with the perspectives of Malaysia's former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, who underscores the importance of soft diplomacy in humanitarian advocacy. His insights illuminate the potential of Malaysian NGOs to influence both international discourse and the internal dynamics of Palestinian society, particularly in shaping collective strategies toward self-determination and independence from lsraeli occupation.
