ОПИСАНИЕ МОСКОВСКОГО ЦАРСТВА В ЛАТИНСКИХ КОСМОГРАФИЯХ ПРАКТИКИ ПЕРЕВОДА НА ПРИМЕРЕ «КОСМОГРАФИИ МЕРКАТОРА» И «ОПИСАНИЯ СВЕТА» ДЕ ЛИНДЫ

<jats:p>Передача на русский язык сообщений о Московском царстве из европейских космографий зависела не только от знания латыни переводчиками, но также от структуры текста оригинала и опыта предшествующих переводов. Компилятивность космографий и узкий круг их источников приводили к повторному переводу одних и тех же сведений. В статье на примере глав о «Москве» из «Космографии Меркатора» (1637) и «Описания света» (нач. XVIII в.) Луки де Линды показано, как разные переводчики решали проблему передачи интерпретированных на латыни реалий московской жизни повторно на русский язык и как более ранняя «Космография Меркатора» могла влиять на перевод «Описания света». Изменения в содержании и структуре латинского оригинала или, наоборот, стремление сохранить их первоначальный вид отображали представления составителей переводов о месте Московского царства в картине мира.</jats:p> <jats:p>The translation of the cosmographies` descriptions of Muscovy into Russian depended not only on the translators’ knowledge of Latin, but also on the structure of the original text and the experience of previous translations. The compilation nature of cosmographies and the narrow range of their sources led to the repeated translation of the same information. Using the example of the chapters on «Moscow» from «Mercator’s Cosmography» (1637) and translated «Description of the World» (early 18th century) by Luca de Linda, this article shows how different translators solved the problem of transferring the realities of Muscovite life, re-interpreted in Latin, back into Russian and how the earlier «Mercator’s Cosmography» could influence the translation of «Description of the World». Changes and restructuring of the Latin original or, conversely, fidelity to it also reflected how the compilers of the translations view the place of the Muscovy in the picture of the whole world.</jats:p>
