Abstract

<title>Abstract</title> <p>Social and digital media increasingly influence health behaviours among young mothers in Nigeria. This study examined the role of social and digital media in shaping childhood vaccination attitudes and behaviours among young mothers in selected communities in Niger State. Using evidence empirical studies, the study explored how online communication platforms affect vaccine awareness, confidence, and hesitancy. Findings showed that social and digital media improve access to vaccination information and support public health awareness campaigns. However, these platforms also facilitate the spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories regarding vaccine safety. The study concluded that digital communication significantly shapes maternal vaccination decisions and should be strategically utilized to improve childhood immunization acceptance.</p>
