Abstract

<title>Abstract</title> <p>Digital technology innovation has profoundly reshaped supply chain management practices and has emerged as a key driver for enhancing supply chain resilience and achieving sustainable high-quality development. Using a sample of Chinese A-share listed firms from 2010 to 2022, this study constructs digital technology innovation indicators based on recent industrial policy documents and patent data. It decomposes supply chain resilience into supplier relationship resilience and customer relationship resilience along the dual “supplier–customer” dimensions, examines the effects of digital technology innovation on each, and further investigates the transmission mechanisms of supplier switching risk and the synergy efficiency trap. The results reveal that digital technology innovation has an asymmetric impact on supply chain resilience: it improves supplier relationship resilience but reduces customer relationship resilience. Mechanism tests indicate that digital technology innovation enhances supplier relationship resilience by lowering supplier switching costs, yet it leads to a synergy efficiency trap that undermines customer relationship resilience. These findings clarify the asymmetric effects and underlying mechanisms of digital technology innovation on corporate supply chain resilience, offering actionable guidance for firms to build digital supply chains, strengthen resilience, and drive high-quality development.</p>
