Abstract

Abstract

The relationship between health education and life skills education (LSE) requires ongoing attention and validation to assess the cultural responsiveness of LSE in school health promotion. This study conducted a cross-sectional analysis of the culturally responsive characteristics of LSE among Chinese university students. A culturally responsive KAP model for LSE on among university students was developed. Using the fsQCA algorithm, this study examined the cultural responsiveness of LSE, including its logical starting points, paths, high-frequency elements, and bottleneck levels. The confirmatory analysis of the five independent variables validated the general universality of its knowledge return as the culturally responsive logical starting point for LSE among university students. Four culturally responsive paths for LSE among university students have been identified. It also has been observed that the cultural responsiveness of LSE, including its 4 paths, 3 high-frequency elements, and the highest 100% and the lowest 90% bottleneck levels. A culturally responsive approach to LSE has been observed to promote students’ holistic development within campus health promotion programs for university students.
