Abstract

<title>Abstract</title> <p>Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are frequently evaluated on the success of their deployment, yet value realisation is a post-implementation phenomenon that unfolds over years as organisations reconfigure processes, govern data and make decisions on the platform's evidentiary base. A persistent obstacle to sustained value is the fragility of trust in shared enterprise data, which is compounded by reconciliation delay, opaque audit trails and decision latency. This article develops an integrative, literature-grounded framework that positions blockchain infrastructure and decision intelligence as complementary mechanisms for post-implementation ERP governance. Drawing on an integrative review of peer-reviewed studies published predominantly between 2019 and 2025, together with foundational theory on information systems success and technology diffusion, the article synthesises evidence on distributed ledger architecture, smart contract automation, process transparency and analytics-driven decision support. The review identifies a persistent gap between technically oriented blockchain-adoption literature and organizationally oriented ERP value-realisation literature, and proposes a four-layer framework connecting ERP operational data, blockchain middleware, decision intelligence and enterprise performance governance. The framework is illustrated through a conceptual architecture, a transaction validation workflow and comparative performance indicators drawn from the literature. The article concludes that blockchain-enabled decision intelligence offers a theoretically coherent, practically actionable route to sustaining ERP value beyond go-live, while noting that empirical validation across industry contexts remains an open research priority.</p>
