Influencing factors on quality of life among patients with Vitiligo in southern China

<title>Abstract</title> <p> <bold>Aim:</bold> This study aimed to assess QoL impairment among patients with vitiligo in southern China using a disease-specific QoL index scale, and analyze the influencing factors of QoL. <bold>Design:</bold> A descriptive, cross-section study. <bold>Methods:</bold> A total of 203 patients with vitiligo aged ≥18 years attending the physiotherapy department of a tertiary dermatology hospital in southern China, were included in the study. Their QoL and psychological states were assessed using the QoL scale and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HADS) Scale, respectively. Univariate analysis and multiple stepwise linear regression analysis was conducted. <bold>Results:</bold> The respondents included 94 males and 109 females, and the average age of them was 32.48 ± 17.10 years. The average score of QoL, anxiety and depression were 43 (22–61), 6 (4–8) and 5 (3–8), respectively. Patients in the divorced or widowed, female, smoking, staying up late (SUL), facial lesions, anxiety, and depression groups had exhibited higher QoL scores. <bold>Patient or Public Contribution:</bold> The patients filled out the questionnaire correctly under the direction of the nurses, and nurses completed the data collection. </p>
