Abstract
<title>Abstract</title> <p>The concept of "sustainable building and construction" refers to the approach of planning, designing, constructing, and managing buildings to foster environmentally sustainable built environments. This approach integrates sustainability considerations, encompassing environmental economic and social factors throughout the project’s life cycle. Climate change presents a significant challenge to numerous industries, including construction. The construction sector must adapt to the increasing frequency of natural disasters, rising global temperatures, and shifting weather patterns to ensure the sustainability and safety of buildings. This study explores the risks and impacts of climate change on building construction and potential solutions. This study examines the relationship between climate change and construction, analysing the challenges, opportunities and strategies for advancing a more sustainable and eco-friendly future. This research adopts a qualitative approach employing an analytical risk management process (probability impact matrix). The objective is to contribute to the achievement of SDGs and the implementation of green construction practices, which construction professionals can use to address the challenges of achieving more sustainable development.</p>
