Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this research is to generate economic, social, and cultural benefits in rural communities through sustainable community-based tourism, thereby reducing poverty and promoting environmental conservation. The methodology is based on a qualitative–descriptive approach, which includes a needs assessment, an analysis of local issues, and the design of training strategies in customer service, marketing, languages, and environmental management, along with organizational strengthening. The results show that the implementation of community-based tourism improves income, fosters local employment, strengthens cultural identity, and promotes responsible environmental practices; however, limitations persist in infrastructure, financing, and digital promotion. It is concluded that community-based tourism is a viable alternative for sustainable development, provided it is accompanied by ongoing training, access to financial resources, strengthened teamwork, and the use of digital platforms, thereby ensuring authentic experiences for tourists and comprehensive well-being for communities.
