Abstract
<title>Abstract</title> <p> <italic> <bold>Purpose</bold> </italic> <italic>:</italic> As accurate analysis of learners' swimming skills is essential for designing appropriate swimming lessons, a diagnostic procedure was developed and field-tested to analyze learners' current swimming skills. The procedure was developed in response to findings from a preceding study that identified challenges physical education (PE) teachers face in analyzing swimming skills. This study examines how teachers evaluate the feasibility of the procedure and the perceived value of its use. <italic> <bold>Methodology</bold> </italic> <italic>:</italic> Fourteen qualitative interviews and a quantitative survey with 58 German PE teachers who had used the procedure in swimming lessons with 6- to 12-year-old learners were conducted. <italic> <bold>Findings</bold> </italic> <italic>:</italic> Teachers generally evaluated the procedure positively, describing it as a valuable diagnostic tool that supports a systematic analysis of learners' swimming skills and more reliable conclusions. <italic> <bold>Discussion/Conclusion</bold> </italic> <italic>:</italic> The findings suggest that the procedure provides meaningful support for teachers and has the potential to improve the practical applicability of swimming skill analysis. </p>
