Abstract
<title>Abstract</title> <p>Objectives There are various occupational hazards faced by healthcare workers (HCWs) in healthcare facilities; this can be worsened when HCWs do not know anything about occupational health and safety. Therefore, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of an occupational health and safety intervention program on the safety knowledge among HCWs. Methods This was a quasi-experimental study. The researchers selected a sample of 120 HCWs from Alexandria hospitals. The sampling was done using convenience sampling, and an electronic questionnaire was adopted for data collection. Results The intervention significantly improved knowledge across various hazards, which was maintained through the follow-up period. Before the program, the average total knowledge score was 40.77, but after implementation, it increased to 55.62, and at follow-up, it went up to 56.25. It is worth noting that higher educational degrees were tied to better scores of awareness about these hazards. Conclusion The occupational health intervention program played a significant role in improving HCWs' appreciation of occupational hazards.</p>
