Abstract

<title>Abstract</title> <p> Pigmented cereals generated wastes contributed drastically in solid waste pollution and interference in environmental sustainability. In contrast, these wastes are the rich source of bioactive compounds like sugar, phenols, protein and alkaloids which can be used as pretreatment agent and nutrient supplements for many biological processes. Additionally, these wastes also perceive high carbon content polymers like cellulose and hemicellulose which can be used in microbial cellulase production. Thus, in present study rice straw generated extract has been used for pretreatment of corn waste biomass which contains corn and cob while waste corn seeds extract has been used as nutrient supplements for fermentative bacterial cellulolytic enzyme production. Under co-fermentation stage of solid state fermentation of 5% rice straw extract pretreated corn stove and cob were used in presence of corn seeds extract as nutrient supplements. Along with co-fermentative substrate ratio, different physicochemical parameters such as moisture content, temperature, pH and different type of nitrogen source and concentration has been symmetrically investigated to obtain enhancement in enzyme production which showed 32 IU/gds FPA at 50% moisture content, temperature 35 <sup>o</sup> C, pH 6.0, 1% YE as nitrogen source at pretreated substrate ratio 5:5. The study has promising potential in low cost, sustainable enzyme production at industrial scale and solid waste management. </p>
