Building Trust through Digital Innovation: Supporting community-led action through group cash transfers in Lebanon

<jats:p>Group Cash Transfers (GCTs) provide unrestricted cash grants to unregistered, emerging, or self-mobilising community groups, enabling them to design and implement projects that respond to the priorities of crisis-affected communities. Building on Oxfam's GCT approach in Lebanon, this case study explores the development of a digital platform designed specifically for community groups. The platform provides a simple and accessible system for managing community-led initiatives, strengthening transparency, accountability, and organizational capacity. Beyond project and financial management, it also serves as a resource mobilization mechanism, enabling community groups to showcase their initiatives, connect with potential supporters, and access future funding opportunities. By combining digital innovation with community-led action, the platform demonstrates how practical, context-appropriate technology can strengthen localization, build trust in community groups, and support more sustainable humanitarian and recovery responses.</jats:p>
