Nina Vasilyevna Volens and her work in the North

<jats:p>The paper is devoted to the life and work of Nina Vasilyevna Volens (1893–1937), a scientist and economist. In the 1930s, N. V. Volens carried out economic and statistical research in the remote areas of the Russian North, on the Kola Peninsula, in the Pechora region, and in Yakutia. Despite the time that has passed, her works are still of undoubted interest to historians, demographers, and local historians.</jats:p>
