On Some Aspects of Digital Transformation of the Legal Profession and Legal Activities: The Current Status and Prospects

<jats:p>The article examines the current state of digital transformation of advocacy and legal profession of Russia based on the Integrated Information System of the Bar Association of Russia (hereinafter also referred to as the KIS AR). The author, based on the analysis of legislative norms on the KIS AR and scientific sources, determines that the digital transformation of advocacy and legal profession of Russia present the use of innovative developments based on information technologies to solve various problems related to the issues of lawyers, advocacy entities, regional bar associations, the Federal Bar Association in order to ensure the constitutional right of everyone to receive qualified legal assistance, including free of charge. The article discusses the possible prospects for using artificial intelligence and the limits of such use in advocacy and legal profession. A promising area for the introduction of new technologies into advocacy is the creation of artificial intelligence based on the КIS AR, which will allow, with the help of an AI assistant, to provide legal assistance for free both within the framework of state and nonstate systems for providing free legal assistance; it will make it possible to analyze and summarize large amounts of information necessary for conducting a case in the shortest possible time. The author outlines the main problems of the implementation and use of artificial intelligence in advocacy.</jats:p>
