<jats:p>The article examines the most important moments of influence exerted by ancient Greek
tragic poets on legal culture. Tragic affects turn out to be connected with the concepts
of law, punishment, and order. The connections between legal understanding and aesthetic
perception of the world are traced.</jats:p>
