Abstract
The influence of frontal and perpendicular injection on temperature fields and combustion stability of coal-water slurries with different compositions was investigated experimentally. The experiments were carried out using a laboratory-scale combustion setup equipped with a K-type thermocouple for temperature measurements in different flame zones. Slurries with different coal-to-water ratios were studied. The results showed that both slurry composition and injection mode significantly affect combustion temperature and flame stability. The most stable combustion was observed for the 40/60 composition, where the maximum temperature reached 1050-1080 °C. It was found that perpendicular injection provides a more uniform temperature distribution and lower temperature fluctuations compared with frontal injection. The obtained results demonstrate the potential of injection mode optimization for improving the efficiency and stability of coal-water slurry combustion.
