<jats:p>The article is devoted to the study of the problems of legal regulation of the institutions of working time and leisure time in the era of digital transformation of the Russian Federation's economy. Based on statistical data and judicial practice, the author analyzes the most common digital control tools used by employers. The widespread use of social networks and messengers as means of work communication allows the author to identify the problems of "blurring the boundaries of working time and leisure time" The analysis conducted allows the author to conclude that the current labor legislation does not fully address the challenges posed by the digital economy. The legal regulation developed in the era of the "classic" organization of labor either does not contain any provisions regarding digital methods of control and ways of electronic interaction through social networks and messengers, or is fragmented. In this regard, the author concludes that local rule-making is an important tool designed to address the existing problems and ensure a balance of interests between the parties to the employment relationship.</jats:p>
