Abstract
<jats:p>Imagology is a scientific discipline about the laws of creation, functioning and interpretation of images of “other”, “alien", foreign objects for the perceiver. Historical imagology studies the images and stereotypes of perception of the surrounding world that existed in the past and their connection with modernity. This partly psychological, partly descriptive discipline has clear links with the study of international relations at one time or another. The main sources of imagology are texts, visual series, and various visual arts in the modern world. The purpose of mastering the discipline “Imagology” is to deepen the level of development of students' competencies in the field of historiography, the history of international relations and source studies.</jats:p>
