Abstract
<jats:p>A comprehensive assessment of the bioenergy potential of plant waste of agro-industrial complex will make it possible to develop recommendations for placement of small autonomous power plants on plant waste and optimize the logistics of collecting and processing biomass. The experimental determination of the thermophysical characteristics of fuel pellets of various types of biomass with the addition of binders and the study of their mechanical properties makes it possible to substantiate the technological possibility of their effective use as fuel for autonomous power supply systems for residential facilities and agricultural enterprises. To assess the bioenergy potential a standardized calculation sequence has been used: determining the mass of waste by crop type, calculating the gross energy potential, and summing up all types of waste. The thermophysical characteristics have been determined according to GOST. Mechanical properties have been studied on a UTS 110M testing machine under longitudinal and transverse loading of fuel pellets. The combination of computational, experimental and standardized methods made it possible to comprehensively assess the potential of plant waste of the Republic of Tatarstan and substantiate the possibility of their effective use in bioenergy, mainly as a local fuel for autonomous energy supply. The obtained quantitative data provide the basis for a reasonable choice of sites to place small autonomous power plants powered by plant raw materials and optimization of logistics schemes to collect and process biomass. The results of the analysis of the thermophysical properties have confirmed that the processing of plant biomass into fuel pellets is a promising solution for the energy use of low-density plant waste. The study of the mechanical properties of fuel pellets has shown that the strength characteristics fully meet the requirements of operation in fuel supply systems.</jats:p>
