Assessing what nursing students actually do: Methods used to evaluate clinical performance during real patient care – A scoping review v1

<p>This scoping review aims to identify and map the methods and sources of evidence used to assess pre-registration nursing students’ clinical performance while they are providing care to real patients in authentic clinical settings. The review will examine the domains of performance assessed, the individuals contributing evidence to assessment, the use of direct observation and patient feedback, the timing and frequency of assessment, the reported measurement properties and feasibility of the identified approaches, and key methodological gaps requiring further investigation.</p>
