Abstract

<p>This protocol is for extraction of genomic dsDNA from raw bacteriophage (phage) lysates using the GenFind V3 Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Beckman Coulter). Resultant DNA is suitable for long-read sequencing via the Oxford Nanopore Technologies MinION platform. The protocol describes the process for a single phage lysate but multiple samples can be processed simultaneously in separate tubes. This protocol has been developed and tested on phages infective for Klebsiella spp., Shigella spp., and Enteroinvasive Escherichia coli (EIEC).</p>
