Abstract
<jats:p>The article discusses the issues of information related to the folk hero Balbai in the sources of Kyrgyz history, Kyrgyz professional literature. First of all, information about Balbai Eshkozho's son is mentioned in the textbook of famous Soviet-era historians V. Mokrynin and V. Ploskikh "History of Kyrgyzstan" for grades 8-9 of a Russian-speaking school. The works of Kyrgyz historians led by B. Soltonoyev and R. Zholdoshov are also cited here as a historical fact. Materials from Internet sources are also presented here, materials from the novel "Balbai" by the poet and writer E.Tursunov, the novel "Clash of Nomads" by K.Osmonaliev, the drama "Seeds of Immortality" by A.Tokombaev, the novel "Tagai Biy" by T.Biynazarov, correspondent of radio Azattyk S.Abdrakhmanov, research by literary scientists: K.Artykbaev, B.Alymov, A.Abdyrazakov, K.Asanalieva. We hope that the materials of the article will contribute to further in-depth study of the topic of Balbai in the science of Kyrgyz literature.</jats:p>
