За превода на фразеологизми в художествената литература (четири славянски превода на романа „Времеубежище“)

<jats:p>The present text examines the problem of the translatability of idioms and the search for their functional equivalents in such a way that the context, style, and the author’s suggestions are preserved. The study works with the text of the novel Time Shelter by the Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov and with four of its Slavic translations – into Czech, Slovak, Serbian, and Bosnian. The aim of the study is to trace the translators’ strategies and their linguistic competence, both in the source language and in the target language into which they translate. It also analyzes the achievement of adequacy and equivalence in translation.</jats:p>
