Abstract

This monograph examines the party-political and socio-economic processes taking place in the United Kingdom in 2025 against the backdrop of a geopolitical confrontation between Western countries and Russia. It analyzes the results of the first year of the Labour government led by K. Starmer. It examines the formation of committees in the House of Commons following the 2024 general election and the new reform of the House of Lords. It examines the reasons for the growing popularity of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party and the balance of political forces in the Celtic regions of the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland and Scotland). Particular attention is paid to the transformation of British foreign policy doctrine and the country's geopolitical interests in the Euro-Atlantic, Indo-Pacific, Baltic and Black Sea regions, particularly its relations with Russia in the circumstances of the Ukrainian conflict, the EU, the USA, China, and the Commonwealth.
