<jats:p>In this paper, I present some of my memories concerning Professor Ewdoksia Papuci‑Władyka during my academic years. A unique and intriguing person who appears unapproachable turns out to be extremely open, friendly, and tolerant upon closer acquaintance. As a professor, she had a massive influence in shaping my scientific path, and years of travelling and working together also brought us closer in our personal lives.</jats:p>
