Abstract
Physics is a field of science without which modern technological progress in virtually any field would be impossible. The need for effective physics pedagogy in any field, especially in recent years, is truly enormous. Virtually every field of science could be mentioned here, starting of course from basic research in the field of physics, biophysics, photophysics, through research related to the exploration of space through engineering, chemistry and biology, ending with modern medicine. In my opinion, the textbook Dydaktyka i pedagogika kognitywistyczna. Zasady ogólne i implementacje w fizyce [Didactics and Cognitive Pedagogy. General principles and implementations in physics] responds to contemporary market needs with extraordinary accuracy. The high substantive level of this book, written in a very accessible and incredibly interesting way, deserves special emphasis. The book can be successfully used in the education process at elementary, school and academic levels. I also think that representatives of various professional groups will also reach for it. Excerpt from the review Although there are many works on cognitive pedagogy, there are few works related to cognitive didactics of physics. What is new is the presentation of applications in teaching at various levels of physics and astronomy – many didactic methods, means and strategies, such as: paths, interactive exhibitions, textbooks, computer-assisted experiments, theatre, interactive lecture or educational programmes and websites. The work consists a new, valuable intake on the problem of both didactics and pedagogy and responds to current social demand.
