Abstract

This article explores the theoretical and methodological foundations of applying the project-based approach to adaptive management of an industry's production and economic system in terms of the digital transformation of industry, aligned with the Industry 4.0 paradigm. The author analyzes contemporary research in the fields of digital transformation, strategizing and project management, revealing a consensus understanding of the projectbased approach as a key tool for implementing changes. Based on a synthesis of complex systems theory, strategizing methodology and transformational management 4.0, five key principles of adaptive management are identified and systematized: cyberphysical dualism, anticipatory feedback, network synergy and emergence, dynamic reconfiguration of hybrid digital resources, cognitive substitution. As a result of this study, the author developed a methodological basis for constructing a project-oriented adaptive management system in the context of Industry 4.0.
