The Russian flu 1889-1890 in Russia: The forgotten coronavirus pandemic?

<jats:p>The first chapter of the monograph is devoted to the theory of epidemiological transition, demographic and socio-economic consequences of pandemics. The second chapter examines the pandemic of the Russian flu of 1889-1890, the news of which was covered daily in the periodical press of the Russian Empire. Based on pre-revolutionary material (reports of the Russian army, periodicals, articles from medical publications), a review of sources regarding the place and time of the virus' occurrence, spread, symptoms, morbidity and excess mortality was carried out. It is intended for specialists in economics and demography, graduate students and university students.</jats:p>
